A Wave of Fear - A Dream Victoria Boyson
www.speakinglife.net
I saw wave after wave of fear crashing
against the earth releasing chaos and confusion among the people. As unreasonable fear clutched at the minds of men, they ran frantic looking for answers.
Men and women who once stood in defiant arrogance against Christ and His followers melted in desperation in their attempts to find peace.
The rich and poor alike begged like children for someone to help them - someone
to guide them. Any Christian with hope became an instance leader for a multitude of miserably hopeless people who were suddenly humbled, trembling with fear and hungry for peace.
The crowds were at first so frightened
they were dangerous to anyone who got near them. Many people were hurt by the maddening crowd as people looked for someone to blame. As a measure of calm was restored, many people began to humble themselves and sought out
anyone who had the peace of God, much like a drowning man would frantically search for someone he knew could swim to save him.
However, if you could imagine one person who knows how to swim trying to save a dozen who
couldn't - it would be a disaster; all would drown for certain. Their only hope is if the swimmer had a life raft to rescue the drowning crowd.
The life raft for us in the days ahead will be the love of God.
As we experience Christ, we increase in His love and will be more able to handle the weight of these last days and to show His love to those
in darkness. After all, we cannot share the love of God if we do not know it for ourselves, and knowing His love is the key to living in His courage.
This I Know When I was about eight years old, my parents
moved to Minnesota to work for a Christian camp. We lived in a trailer house in the woods of this camp. Every winter, the snow would pile high on top of the flat roof and would melt off into large icicles that hung off the long
sides of the trailer house roof.
Late at night, I'd lay alone in my room and hear the sounds of icicles breaking and smashing against the side of the house. Hitting my window and banging on the sides of the trailer, the
ice was terrifying as my imagination got the better of me. I would lay in bed barely able to sleep listening to the sounds around me. With each sound, I became more unsettled until I could not sleep at all.
Once fear
settles in our mind, the only cure is the Word of God. So, I'd lay their in the darkness quoting the few scriptures I remembered to myself, to the darkness, even to the icicles. Anything to keep my mind off the sounds outside
and the fear growing in my heart. As I ran out of scriptures to quote, I would then sing the song "Jesus Loves Me."
Jesus loves me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong,
They weak, but He is strong.
I can still see myself there now, all alone clinging to the One I knew would never leave me
and would always love me. Reminding the spirit of fear that Jesus was real and I knew He loved me, I sang over and over again until I fell fast asleep.
This precious song has remained important to me through the years
and I know to many others as well. It reminds us of the most important and amazing thing God has given us: His incredible, unconditional love. His love is foundational. Without it, Christianity is empty religion that is no more
powerful or life-changing than being a member of a social club.
It's imperative that we know His love for us and rely on it. An amazing revelation God taught me as a child was that His love was perfect and focusing on
His love for me kept me in perfect peace. As long as I focused on His love for me, I did not fear. Truly, the more I knew of Him - the more I understood His ways and His heart - the less I feared.
If we understand that
God created us and has been with us since our birth and if we believe He understands why we do the things we do even when we don't understand ourselves, we can believe in His desperate love for us. The Bible tells us He loves
us unconditionally and wants us to know Him and love Him the same way. While we were yet sinners God sent His Son to die for our redemption because He wants a personal relationship with us; He wants to be our Father.
The Blindness of Pride This world has become increasingly smug and prideful and, as a result, they've become progressively more blinded by an anti-Christ spirit. This spirit exalts itself above the knowledge of God (2
Corinthians 10:5), boldly declaring its knowledge as truth when, in reality, it's merely ignorance dressed up by pride.
People controlled by this spirit act as if they've created themselves and the air they breath, with
little regard or thought for their true Creator. They've chosen, instead, to believe He doesn't exist, exalting their own intelligence and being much too smart to be "duped by religion." Rebellion is their doctrine
and self-will their god.
Blinded by their own goodness, they assume they have no need for a Savior. It's this belief that is the most lethal lie the enemy has, for it will lead them to hell. As Satan gleefully cheers them on, the Father watches His dearly loved creation witness too late the horrors of hell as they are separated from Him forever.
Pride has blinded them and they have lost the ability to comprehend truth. Sharing the truth with some one in pride is like trying to save a drowning man who refuses to believe he's drowning. They insist they see the
true path, even trying to lead others when they're as blind as a bat.
For a time, the Lord is taking aim at the pride of man to draw as many to Himself as He can: He is going to allow fear to strike at the pride of man.
With waves of unreasonable fear, He, in His mercy, will drive men to their knees, either in humility or humiliation.
Our Only Hope The fear is used to blast the spirit of pride and cynicism that has wrapped
itself around the minds of men causing them to harden their hearts against God. This pride is lethal and will drag them to hell. But God in His mercy, will show them their need for Him. Not only will He show them their need for Him, but for those "ignorant Christians" as well.
As the waves of fear hit the earth, the pride of man will crumble under the weight of it. Many will indeed turn to those they once held in contempt. That's you dear friend.
In the dream, I saw fear running
rampant on the earth. Everyone was desperately looking for someone with answers to their despair. Suddenly, a group of people would notice a Christian who had peace and love and they would be attracted to them like metal to a
magnet.
Christians were the only ones who had the desperately-needed hope they longed for. And hope in Christ produced peace. But soon Christians were overwhelmed with the pressure from the need of so many wanting the
peace they had. It was chaotic and even a little frightening to feel their desperate need. But truly, some believed and found Christ.
Just as the group of drowning people clung to the swimmer as their only means of
salvation, we will be their only escape from the terror they feel. But as they clung to him and he began to sink, no matter how strong we are, we are not strong enough to save them on our own. The only way we can save them is
to guide them to the Life Raft, Jesus Christ.
We must prepare ourselves for the days ahead by immersing ourselves in Him now. Christ alone will keep us in peace and enable us to handle the impossible weight we will
carry. As the waves of fear crash against us, the only thing that will keep us from crashing with it is to know God and immerse ourselves in His love.
The world has a choice to make: to melt into submission to
the God who made them or harden in bitterness and fight against Him (Revelation 19:19). Before the door opens even wider to the anti-Christ spirit, our Father will give us a great opportunity; the opportunity to preach at the
gates of hell! As darkness covers the people, He will make His light shine through us and draw multitudes to repentance (Isaiah 60:1-3).
As we stand humbly before the gates of hell, we must remember our fight is not
against men, but we battle Satan for the souls of men. Indeed, it's not flesh and blood we are fighting, but demon spirits who oppress and dominate the minds of men in order to break the Father's heart.
We fight for our Father's sake - to liberate men so they are free to love Him.
Dear friends, the earth is in labor to bring forth the day of our Lord. Heaven and earth are preparing for the end of the age. We must
prepare ourselves as well, giving Him first place in every decision we make. Giving Him our time right now is the very best thing we can do.
Pray this with me:
Lord I give You my life and my heart, make me
completely Yours. Take all that I am and use it for Your kingdom. Let my time on this earth matter eternally. Prepare me to be a tower of refuge for Your people to find shelter from the storms of this age.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
